The 2008 Five Civilized Tribes Fine Art Competition, June 28, 2008 in Muskogee, Oklahoma
Victoria won a 2nd Place Award in the "Paintings" category at the 2008 Five Civilized Tribes Fine Art Competition. She is standing next to the award winning painting, entitled "Homage to Crumbo," at the awards ceremony. Victoria dedicated "Homage to Crumbo" to the late Native American artist Woody Crumbo (1912-1989) whose artwork and life she admires.
Eiteljorg Museum Indian Art Market, Indianapolis, Indiana, June 21-22, 2008
Victoria won 1st and 3rd Place Awards in the "Miscellaneous Pottery" Category at the 2008 Eiteljorg Museum Indian Art Market in Indianapolis, Indiana. A vase entitled "Cheshire Catamount," shown here with Victoria and the vase's new owner, Elaine Moen, won the 1st Place Award and another vase entitled "Not Just Black or White," on the top shelf immediately to the left of Victoria, won the 3rd Place Award. These were the first awards Victoria has recieved at the Eiteljorg Museum Indian Art Market for her pottery and she was very honored for the recognition.
